What's Up?I'm Marisela

Marisela Milian, founder of Jus'Therapy

My story

This work is not about me

We all know the saying: be the person you needed when you were younger. That's probably the best way I can describe why Jus'Therapy exists. After more than a decade working with Black and Brown boys and men, I saw the need for a space where they can feel safe, vulnerable, and heard.

Reflections

In Her Own Words

My Why

The search for therapists who truly understand and center their experiences is...you already know. I'm a disruptor, and I'm not afraid to take the initiative even when the road is unknown or uncomfortable because this space is needed, and our Black and Brown boys and men deserve a space that is theirs.

My Style

I'm an open book and a straight shooter. I want you to feel safe enough to be vulnerable, but I also believe growth sometimes requires us to step into brave spaces, not just comfortable ones and yes, I might crack a joke along the way because we don't always have to be so serious.

My Identity

I'm a mom, Latina, Christian, entrepreneur, nonprofit founder, athlete, and a product of my environment with my own complex trauma lived experiences. Doing my own healing has taught me that we can't do this life alone, and showing up as my unapologetic self matters to me because I know how it feels to be misunderstood.
